Position Summary
The Site Supervisor is responsible for the overall coordination and execution of field operations on assigned commercial construction projects. This role ensures that construction work is performed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with project schedules, budgets, contract documents, and company quality standards.
The Site Supervisor serves as the primary field leader on site, providing direction to field staff and maintaining daily coordination with subcontractors, vendors, and project management teams. This position plays a critical role in maintaining production flow, enforcing safety protocols, and resolving field challenges as they arise to keep projects moving forward successfully. This role requires strong leadership presence, technical construction knowledge, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced commercial construction environment while maintaining HDC’s standards for professionalism and quality craftsmanship.
Primary Responsibilities
Site Leadership & Operations
• Direct daily field activities and construction workflows
• Coordinate trade contractors and construction personnel
• Monitor project schedules and help maintain production timelines
• Communicate project progress, challenges, and solutions with management
• Provide direction and guidance to in-house carpenters and laborers
Safety & Compliance
• Promote and enforce safe working practices in accordance with safety regulations
• Participate in site safety planning and hazard identification
• Help maintain compliance with company and regulatory safety standards
• Conduct routine site inspections to support safe working conditions
Quality Control
• Review project drawings and specifications to support field accuracy
• Verify workmanship and installation quality
• Identify and help resolve field conflicts or construction challenges
• Support punch list completion and project closeout activities
Project Coordination
• Track materials, deliveries, and equipment usage
• Assist with inspection scheduling and coordination
• Maintain daily project documentation and field reports
• Support communication between field staff, subcontractors, and project managers
Site Organization
• Maintain clean, safe, and professional job sites
• Support efficient material storage and jobsite logistics
• Foster a productive and respectful team environment
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Previous supervisory or field leadership experience strongly preferred
• Strong understanding of construction methods and sequencing
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Highly organized and detail-oriented
• Experience using digital construction tools or software is a plus
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required
Education & Experience
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related field preferred
• Minimum of five (5) years of progressive commercial or residential construction experience, including field supervision responsibilities
